Question: What does the background of Psalm 138:8 mean?
Your answer lies in the same verse (8); “Which concerns Me”.
Meaning; all that God has planned and also laid out in His Word (the Bible); He will “perfect”, i.e. make happen in perfection!
When that is realised by the reader; God’s Word takes on the Wonder, and reassurance that it is was intended to do!
That is despite all the “naysayers”, all of whom are working for God’s enemy Satan!
Have you noticed how upset those people get when opposed; and how much energy and effort they use to try to destroy God’s Message in Christ Jesus!
If they are so sure; why do they bother, and expend so much effort?
The answer is that they will be rewarded should they and Satan succeed in bringing about God’s challenge to Satan in Jeremiah 31:36–37.
Since the Lord Jesus’ Work at Calvary; Satan has desperately been trying to stop the World from knowing God’s Gift of Eternal Salvation, and to that end has been using “fallen angels”, and humans who give their will to Satan in that endeavour (1Peter 5:8–11), so you see in those few words of your question, they lead to the saying of Habakkuk 2:4; “The Just shall live by faith”; which has now echoed down the Centuries, with millions of people now ready to enter Eternity as “The Body of Christ Jesus”; (Rom.12:5, 1 Cor.12:12–27, Ephes.4:15–16, 5:23 & Col. 1:18, 1:24).
